This privacy policy applies to the VoiceScribe AI app (hereinafter referred to as "Application") for mobile devices, developed by Abdullah Shareef (hereinafter referred to as "Service Provider") as a free, ad-supported service. This service is provided "AS IS".

1. What information does the Application collect?

Information you provide:

The Application does not require registration or account creation. All generated documents, transcription history, and app settings are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to our servers.

The Application may automatically collect the following:

Type of mobile device and operating system
Unique device ID and IP address
Mobile browser type
General usage patterns within the Application

2. Microphone Access

Yes — this Application requires access to your device's microphone. Microphone access is used exclusively to:

Record your voice for real-time speech-to-text transcription
Capture audio for AI-powered document generation (emails, meeting notes, reports, and more)

Your voice recordings are never stored on our servers. Audio is sent to the Groq API for processing, the resulting text is returned to your device, and the original audio data is discarded immediately after transcription.

You may revoke microphone access at any time through your device settings. Note that the core recording and transcription features will not function without microphone access.

3. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features

Yes — this Application uses AI technologies. VoiceScribe AI uses the Groq API to power two core AI features:

Speech-to-Text Transcription — powered by Groq's Whisper Large v3 model, which converts your recorded audio into accurate text
Document Generation — powered by Groq's Llama 3.3 70B model, which transforms your transcript into professional documents such as emails, meeting notes, to-do lists, reports, cover letters, social posts, and more

Please note:

Your voice audio is sent to Groq's servers solely for processing and is not retained
Do not include sensitive personal information (e.g. passwords, financial details) in your recordings
Transcription history and generated documents are stored locally on your device only

The Service Provider may share your information only in the following circumstances:

The Application displays advertisements via Google AdMob to free-tier users. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings under Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

Premium subscribers (VoiceScribe Pro) enjoy an ad-free experience.

7. Data Storage & Retention

All user-generated content — including transcription history, generated documents, and app settings — is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.

Voice recordings are processed in real-time by the Groq API and are not persisted on any server after transcription is complete. Automatically collected analytics data is retained for up to 24 months. To request deletion of any data associated with your device, contact us at the email below.

8. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the Application, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to remove such information.

9. Your Rights & Opt-Out

You may:

Revoke microphone access in device settings
Opt out of personalized ads via Google settings
Clear all local app data by uninstalling the Application
Request data deletion by contacting us

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. All API communications with Groq use HTTPS/TLS encryption. Voice recordings are processed in real-time and never persisted on any server. Sensitive data such as API keys are stored securely using Android's encrypted storage. However, no system can guarantee 100% security.

11. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of any changes.
